The June Joy Journey

There’s something about June.

The light stretches longer into the evening. The air softens. Windows open. Bare feet return. Flowers bloom wildly along sidewalks and river paths. (and the smells of these blooms is heavenly!) After a long season of what feels like surviving, many of us begin craving something gentler. Something more alive.

Over the past several years, I have found that June has become a month with a “negative connotation,” as it gets packed with too many things. End of school activities, kids sports, the struggle to find indoor/outdoor balance, and so on. So I personally wanna make a mindset shift, and I thought you might like to come along with me.

This month, we’re inviting you into a simple community practice:
The June Joy Journey.

A month dedicated to noticing and collecting tiny moments of joy.

Not performative joy.
Not forced positivity.
Not pretending life is perfect.

Real joy.
Small joy.
Ordinary joy.

The kind that appears quietly in daily life: sunlight through the trees, cold river water, laughter with a friend, a beautiful cup of tea, music that moves through your body, flowers pushing through cracks in the pavement, a deep breath after a hard day.

The June Joy Journey is about learning to notice those moments again.

Throughout June, we invite you to find one little “joy burst” each day and capture it in whatever way feels meaningful to you.

You might:

  • write a sentence in a journal

  • snap a photograph

  • create a junk journal or collage book

  • collect tiny objects or scraps

  • press flowers

  • doodle

  • keep your reflections entirely private

There is no right way to participate. This isn’t about productivity or perfection. It’s about presence.
Creativity. Connection. And gently retraining ourselves to see beauty woven through ordinary life.

At Inner Light Healing Collective, we believe healing doesn’t only happen in the deep, transformative moments. Sometimes it happens quietly: through creativity, through nature,
through community, through paying attention, through allowing ourselves to feel delight again.

Over the month, we’ll be sharing daily prompts, reflections, and tiny sparks of inspiration to support the journey. Some prompts may invite you into creativity, others into stillness, embodiment, connection, or sensory awareness.

This is a soft invitation. A playful experiment. A creative practice in noticing joy.

Let me make it VERY clear…You do not need artistic skill. You do not need to feel joyful all the time. You do not need to do it perfectly.

You simply need a willingness to pause and ask:

“What brought a little aliveness to my day today?”

Whether you join us for one day or all thirty, we hope this journey helps you gather moments of beauty, connection, creativity, and presence throughout the month ahead.

Let’s notice life together. xoxo Jody
