Honouring the Summer Solstice & National Indigenous Peoples Day

Today, we stand at a powerful crossroads—where the sun reaches its zenith, and we are invited to honour the ancestral wisdom that has long been in communion with this sacred Earth.

The Summer Solstice, the longest day of light, is a moment of radiant expansion. A time to honor the fire within, to celebrate the blooming of our inner gardens, and to give gratitude for the abundance that surrounds us. In many Indigenous traditions, this day is deeply ceremonial—a portal of prayer, connection, and reverence for the cycles of life.

It is also National Indigenous Peoples Day, a time to recognize and uplift the enduring cultures, teachings, and resilience of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. Their deep relationship with the land, sky, water, and spirit reminds us that we are not separate from nature—but a living, breathing part of it.

Today, may we slow down and listen.
Listen to the land beneath our feet.
To the wisdom in the wind. (and the rain)
To the heartbeat of ancient teachings.
And to the call to walk with more reverence, more reciprocity, more remembrance.

Let this be a day of reflection, celebration, and commitment—to honoring Indigenous voices, protecting sacred traditions, and walking in deeper harmony with the Earth and each other.

With humility, with open hearts, we bow to the sun, to the land, and to the Elders—past, present, and emerging.

May this Solstice ignite within us the courage to live more aligned, more awake, and more rooted in truth.

Here are 5 soulful journal prompts to welcome and align with the energy of the Summer Solstice—a time of radiant light, abundance, and full bloom:

1. What within me is ready to shine more brightly?
Reflect on the gifts, truths, or desires that are longing to be expressed. Where have you been dimming your light, and how can you allow it to fully radiate this season?

2. What abundance is already blooming in my life?
Celebrate the fruits of your inner and outer work. What have you cultivated that you can now harvest with gratitude and joy?

3. How can I honor the balance of doing and being this season?
The solstice is a portal of both action and presence. Explore where you need more spaciousness, and where you’re being called into inspired movement.

4. What intentions do I wish to plant under this potent sun?
Though it’s a time of culmination, the solstice also sparks new fire. What passions or dreams are calling to be initiated now?

5. How can I connect more deeply with the rhythms of nature and my own body this summer?
Let this be a space to realign with seasonal living, sensual embodiment, and sacred pleasure. What practices or rituals can support this connection?
